Aaron Holbrook

Aaron is a Chicago WordPress developer and designer, gamer and father. He builds amazing WordPress themes, applications and plugins with his company A7 Web Design and has been working with WordPress since 2005.

With clients across the globe, he has had the opportunity to build many different types of WordPress sites and loves to contribute back to the community by speaking at WordCamps, organizing WordPress Meetups and helping beginners whenever possible.

When Aaron’s not coding, he loves eating hot wings, drinking cold beer, watching Day[9] and listening to Merlin Mann.

Aaron Ware is a President and Loud Mouth at Linchpin: A full service creative agency specializing in brand and online marketing. Over the past decade Aaron has worked with leading brands, start-ups and everyone in between to develop innovative, highly interactive, feature-rich websites and online apps.

Today he’s becoming more active in the WordPress development scene through open source plugins and as a guest speaker at Providence-area events.

Al Caldarone

Al has been working in the I.T. Industry for the past 20 years and coding websites since 1998. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Johnson and Wales University earning an A.S. in Applied Computer Science and a B.S. in Information Science.

Now he builds and oversees web applications as a Senior Programmer Analyst for the State of Rhode Island, specializes in .Net, VB, jQuery, SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, and freelances building custom WordPress themes.

Andy Christian

Andy has been using WordPress since the dark ages of version 1.0.2 way back in 2004. After moving to New York in 2009, he became active in the WordPress community there, and has been involved in New York’s last three WordCamps. He also runs the Happiness Bar for the monthly WordPress NYC Meetup.

Andy currently manages support and training for Tadpole.cc, a WordPress-based coop that provides hosting, support, training, and development.

Ben Doherty

Ben has a long history of developing programs for the web as well as mobile clients and desktop computers.

After getting his start at a small internet service provider in his home town, Ben went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Since then, Ben spent several years honing his technical and business skills freelancing with a wide variety of clients, developing custom software solutions and websites to suit their needs.

Ben is passionate about open-source software and has developed many websites using free CMS platforms like Drupal and WordPress. He has used his expertise to develop attractive and effective custom themes and modules for both platforms.

I’m Brad Parbs. My first words as a child were “WordPress is awesome”. I create awesome plugins and amazing themes. Core contributor, and author of “How To Be Awesome”, and cat lover. I love WordPress & the amazing community.

Brian Casel

I’m a designer, developer, and founder of a few WP-related companies. I co-host the FreelanceJam (http://freelancejam.com) podcast, a show all about freelancing and web design. I’m also a contributer to Mashable, FreelanceSwitch and other sites, where I write about Freelance, Business, and WordPress.

Dr. Renee Hobbs

Renee Hobbs is Professor and Founding Director of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island, a new communication school that brings together the departments and programs in Journalism, Film/Media, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Writing & Rhetoric and a graduate program in Library and Information Studies, with 1300 undergrads, 350 grads and more than 80 fulltime faculty.

Supported by a generous gift by Dick Harrington, former CEO of Thomson/Reuters, Renee Hobbs will help the faculty to create a new school of national distinction, charged with the mission of using the power of communication and digital media to make a difference in the world.

Professor Hobbs is one of the nation’s leading authorities on media literacy education.

Through community and global service and as a researcher, teacher, advocate and media professional, Hobbs has worked to advance the quality of digital and media literacy education in the United States and around the world. She founded the Media Education Lab, whose mission is to improve the quality of media literacy education through research and community service.

In the early 1990s, she created the first national teacher education program in media literacy, the Harvard Institute on Media Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Erick Hitter

Erick Hitter is a Design Engineer with Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Gravatar, PollDaddy, and more. As part of Team Custom, he helps create awesome features that let WordPress.com users tailor sites to their personalities with more than just a great theme.

He was formerly a web developer with Oomph, Inc., where he specialized in complex WordPress implementations for high-traffic sites, including several on the WordPress.com VIP platform.

Erick has created a number of plugins available from the official repository, including WP Print Friendly, View All Posts Pages, and Taxonomy Dropdown Widget, as well as the WordPress.com VIP External Permalinks and View All Posts Pages plugins.

Jess Jurick

Jess works as a Senior Web Strategist at 10up, a premium web strategy and development agency. Jess has over four years of experience working in the interactive space with Fortune 20 brands, major non-profits and state organizations. Jess is passionate about creating an interactive and engaging audience experience for users and a seamless content management experience for publishers using WordPress.

John Caserta

John Caserta is a Providence-based designer, artist and educator. In 2012, he was appointed to the full-time faculty a RISD as an Assistant Professor in the Graphic Design Department.

In November 2007, he founded The Design Office, an organization that supports local independent designers. The Office provides desk space, equipment, and community, while initiating collaborative projects — including a WordPress theme for artists (Flatfile), a pictogram typeface for the Web (Modern Pictograms), and a WordPress Gallery plug-in (Contact Sheet). He received an MFA from Yale University in 2004 and a BA in Journalism from The University of North Carolina in 1995.

John Eckman

John Eckman is a veteran of the web content management industry, a blogger for the CMS Myth (www.cmsmyth.com), and the Managing Director of the Boston office of ISITE Design (www.isitedesign.com).
He’s worked with many open source and proprietary content management platforms large and small, and has been at various points a user experience lead, a project manager, a developer and technical architect, and a digital strategist for clients from 10 person non-profits to the Fortune 50.
He’s developed a number of WordPress plugins (WPBook, WPGPlus) and has spoken at conferences like Web Content (Chicago), Gilbane, New England GiveCamp, DrupalCamp Montreal, DrupalCamp Connecticut, WordCamp Boston, and CMS Expo.
He’s also the founding organizer of WordCamp Boston, and lead the organizing team in 2010 and 2011. He tweets as @jeckman, is on Github (github.com/jeckman) and his WordPress.org profile is http://profiles.wordpress.org/johneckman/.

Jon Bishop

Jon Bishop is a Web Developer at AMP Agency with a love for writing open source code and playing with the latest web technologies. Jon maintains a few plugins in the WordPress plugin repository, helps run the Boston WordPress meetup and spends the rest of his time blogging at JonBishop.com and the AMP Agency blog.

Jonathan Desrosiers is a Web Developer based in the Southern New England area. He works on WordPress websites of all different shapes and sizes, covering the spectrum from simple to complex, including WordPress VIP hosted sites.

Jon is the owner of NetNoticed an SEO and internet marketing company that specializes in helping companies get noticed online. He has a passion for ranking websites online and has been in the internet marketing business for over five years. From the very beginning he starting building websites to sell products online and WordPress was the obvious choice, and he has been using it ever since.

K.Adam White practices the art of JavaScript as the front-end development manager at Grand Circle Corporation in Boston, MA, and has implemented custom WordPress solutions for individuals and small businesses throughout the greater Boston area. He has been using WordPress since 2007, and is pretty jazzed about the future of the open web.

I’m a senior developer at Union Street Media in Burlington, VT. I’ve been building websites for over 15 years and I specialize in PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript & jQuery, Regular Expressions, Ruby on Rails, and of course WordPress. In addition to programming, I love backpacking, golfing, kayaking, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and anything involving a frisbee.

Owner of Denim Design Diva, is a New England based Graphic Artist, Web Designer and Branding Specialist with a passion for creating custom design solutions for entrepreneurs and small to medium sized businesses.

Tracy is an award-winning artist, writer and inventor who has been a freelance web developer for several years, and is a regularly published author on art and design in various publications.

He has successfully patented several 3D video imaging technologies, resulting in a 3DTV requiring no 3D glasses. Currently instructing Web Development at RISD, subjects including WordPress, iOS/Android App Development, PHP, CSS.
